Hours of Operation
Mary Poppins Learning Academy is open all year-round Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Please be advised our program will be closed on all Statutory holiday (please see below for list of holidays).
Unfortunately, there is a possibility of our program closing unexpectedly. A few reasons may include weather inclement such as excessive snow or extreme heat. There could be emergency issues with our building that need immediate correction. There may be too many teachers absent without available substitutes. If an emergency arises, parents/guardians will be notified as soon as possible by phone call (or Voicemail), text message and/or email. All forms of contact will be attempted, but if you, the parent/guardian, are unable to be reached, a notice will be posted outside the door. Recommendations for other temporary care for the day of an emergency closing (not due to inclement weather) may be made. Please refer to our Director, Mrs. Merced for these recommendations.
Student Absences and Vacations
If your Child is absent for any reason, you are still responsible for paying the full amount of the tuition. Also, please be advised if you remove your child from enrollment temporarily without any notice or arrangements with the director, understand that your child’s spot may be taken whenever you decide to re-register your child. To keep your child’s spot in our program, please notify us of any planned absences. You will also be required to pay your tuition in full each week/month.
We provide our students with a morning snack, lunch, and snack free of charge for all who have enrolled in our meal program. In order for your child to receive these meals, you must complete and sign the free meals Child Enrollment Form annually. We have two weekly menus that we alternate every other week in order to ensure your child gets a variety of meals. You may request a copy. The food we serve follows the regulations of the Child care network of New York and we guarantee that all meals are healthy, nutritious, and filling. We will try to avoid serving foods that any child may be allergic to, but in the event that we do, please provide us with a doctor’s note (signed by a physician), to maintain on file, stating your child’s allergy. This is a requirement of the Child care network of New York. We must serve all our children the same meal at the same time when scheduled to be served (according to our menu). Therefore, if your child “does not like” something we are serving, we cannot serve them anything else. We will encourage them to taste the food and try to eat it. If you know your child will refuse to eat what we are serving, feel free to provide a replacement meal for that particular day.
Our meal schedule is as follows:
8:30 AM Breakfast
12:30 PM Lunch
3:30 PM Snack
Please be sure to drop your child off on time so they are able to receive a nutritious meal with the other students. You may not alter your child’s schedule based upon the meal schedule. We are happy to pack a meal for your child to take home if they miss a meal time.
ABC Garden, is a group family day care where in we would like to maintain a safe, comfortable, and respectful family environment. In our family, here at ABC Garden, we treat each other with respect and use appropriate language. Upon entering our facility, we expect that you, your child, and all guests you bring in with you do the same.
We will not tolerate any bullying, inappropriate language, disruptive behavior, or destructive activity.
If you or anyone you bring in exhibits this type of behavior, we reserve the right to ask you to exit the house.
If your child that is enrolled exhibits this type of behavior, we will ask you to come in for a meeting as soon as possible to figure out how to correct his/her behavior. If behavior cannot be corrected in a timely fashion, we will terminate the registration contract and suggest other childcare services.
Prior to enrollment, all parents must properly complete all registration forms. These forms include, but are not limited to, the registration form, disciplinary policy, photo release form, school supply list, and child in care medical statements.
Medical Statement” (Physical)
Prior to enrollment, you must hand in their completed Child In Care Medical Statement also known as a completed physical. It is essential that your little one visit the doctor regularly to maintain his/her health. These physicals must be completed every 12 months. If you have a baby (under 2 years old), you must provide us with an updated medical form after every new vaccination. A new form must be handed in every September. If these statements are not handed in on time, your child will not be permitted to attend day care until we receive the form.
if your child has a contagious illness, they will not be permitted to enter the day care until they are cured and we receive a signed statement from your child’s physician. If your child becomes ill during the day, you will be contacted as soon as possible by phone call (or voicemail), text message, and/or email in order to pick them up immediately. If you cannot be contacted, we will contact the emergency numbers that you have provided upon registration. Children that become suddenly ill during the day will be excluded from group activities and taken care of in a separate area by a teacher or an assistant. They will stay in separated care until you or one of your authorized emergency contacts picks them up. Please be aware that no refund of tuition or make up days is guaranteed due to early pick up.
Our day care is only authorized to administer over the counter topical ointments such as diapering creams, powders, sun block, lotions, etc. We cannot administer any medications that the child must eat or drink, or any medication that requires a prescription. The owner, on-site provider, teachers, or assistants are not allowed to administer medications (other than over the counter topical ointments) under any circumstances. All over the counter topical ointments that you would like us to administer must be provided to us in the original container only with the proper labeling. We will not apply anything given to us in an alternate container. Please contact the Owner for any questions, concerns, or scheduling regarding medications.
Tuition & Receipts
All weekly tuition payments are due in full on your child’s first day of the school week (for most people, that is Monday). All monthly tuition payments are due in full on the first day of each month that your child attends school. The tuition price agreed upon during registration is the tuition price you must pay in full when it is due. There is no bargaining on tuition. Each time you make a payment to us, you will receive an receipt noting the amount and the reason for the money paid. Please save the receipts for your records.
Late Payments & Consequences
Payments must be made in the morning before you drop off your child. If you do not pay your tuition in full at that time, you cannot leave your child to stay at the Day Care unless you have agreed upon arrangements with the On-Site Provider. There is a $20.00/week late fee in addition to your tuition for paying after the due date. Therefore, if your tuition was due on Monday, and you did not pay until after Monday, you will owe an additional $20.00 on top of your regular tuition payment. If you go past seven days late, we will have to remove your child from enrollment.
Late Pick Ups & Consequences
We close at 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. It is understandable that sometimes parents run late or hit traffic jams on the way to pick up. Therefore, we have a 10-minute grace period. After 10 minutes, we enforce a $1.00/minute late fee. If you arrive at 5:46 PM, you must pay a $16.00 late fee no later than the following day of drop off. If you do not come to pick up your child by 5:45 PM we will begin contacting you and/or your authorized emergency contacts to come pick up your child. If we cannot get into contact with you or any of your authorized contacts to pick up your child, we are required to release them to the appropriate authorities. We do not provide night care, so we cannot assume responsibility for your child after we close.
